Back to school… pt 2

The results of my timetabling efforts are here…

A few days ago I posted Back to school… and said that I needed to get myself a timetable and that I should stick to it.

Well here’s the timetable that I drew up. From my listed goals for 2010 I tried to balance out what would help get me there quickest with other things that I ‘need’ to do.

  • Work 70% - Obviously work is the highest priority, not that I find it ‘work’ ‘cos I enjoy it, so 70% of my working week is devoted to work.
  • Garden 9% - You might think 9% of my week spent on the garden is a lot… and you’d be right. However, there’s an overgrown and tree lined area at the bottom of the garden that we want to turn into a veggie plot so there’s a lot of work to do, before Autumn really sets in. Given I want to be self-sufficentish in 2010 then that’s the reason why so much time is spent on the garden.
  • Home 9% - Well…. chores have to be done. Given that a clean home helps with a clear mind then keeping the house clean is quite important… to me anyway.
  • Health 7% - This isn’t really happening yet, ‘cos the garage is full and there’s no room for the gym. As soon as the garage is cleaned up(hello car boot sale) then I’ll work out 3 times a week and have 1 hr swimming(also family time).
  • R&R 5% - This is to get my Sax practice in. 30 mins per day at least 5 days a week. My reading time will be done on an ad-hoc basis at night.

This week is trial run with the timetable. Results so far…. very good, better than I expected actually, with the exception of the sax. I’ve done no sax! Everything else seems to be going good, so I will have the discipline and do it from Monday…err too late for tonight, family movie time has been asked for. What can you do ;-)

I’ll update late next week with progress of how it’s going for the first full week.

later…
